Car Crash -- Part II

March 31, 2003

30 days later....

Let me begin by saying thank you to all of the folks who have pitched in and helped at both home and at the office. My life has been on hold for the past month and your help has made it somewhat bearable. I know that at times I can be a pill - so thanks for putting up with me.

I'm up and about and still in a lot of pain. The final tally on the injuries is a slight neck fracture between the 2nd and 3rd vertebra, slightly separated left shoulder, banged up left elbow, bruised ribs, torn cartilage in my right knee. The list is a tad longer but suffice it to say that I'm alive. Couple this with the baseball beaning six months ago, I am rapidly becoming a medical marvel.

Many auto industry folks have looked at the car and told me that they're surprised to see me up and about. Toyota engineers have even examined the wreckage. Suffice it to say that I am one of the luckiest people around.

I started back to work on February 24th and am slowly making my way to a full work day. I expect to be back to a full day around April 1st. I've promised Debby, the kids and my doctors that I won't rush it.

My new Avalon is on the way and should be here in the next week or so. As for Ashley's cooking - well - we've got a ways to go. She's been a trooper and I'm proud of the way she's handled herself.

As for Debby, I've promised her  that I am going to behave myself. With the concussion six months ago and now this, she's about at the end of her rope. I'm spending more time in the emergency room than her 2 boys combined.

For Clients ... March is setting itself up as the most important month so far this year. The geo-political events continue to play themselves out and the economy continues to right itself. My goal is to be in touch with everyone during the month of March. While I have been recuperating, I have had a lot of time to think about the market and how different strategies might help us make it through this. The February recaps are on their way and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to call.
